19 October 2016: Members Update

Most of you will have noticed that we had a large turnout for our Saturday event at Bramshill last weekend but our team of volunteers, led by Jane Courtier, generally coped well. The weather was good (unlike Sunday) which helped but the areas of young trees made the going on Andy Parry’s courses tough in places and quite a challenge. Katy Stubbs’ map of our new area was impressive including detailed mapping of the numerous ridges. ....

It has been a good weekend for Fiona Clough in this weekend's Porto City Races.  With a second place in Friday night's evening event she maintained this standard and gained second place in the Women Super Vet class in yesterday's race and completed the set with a third second place today.  Congratulations to her on a great performance up against a large number of competitors from across Europe.

23 September 2016: 2nd place for Fiona Clough in the Porto night race

A race around the city of Porto in Portugal may not be everyone's ides of orienteering but the annual Porto City Race weekend has become an established part of the international urban calendar.  This year Fiona Clough and Derick Mercer have included it on their schedule and for Fiona it looks like being a good move.  In tonight's first race, she successfully navigated the complex course and was placed second in the Women Super Vet class.
