This is the final update for BKO’s 25th Anniversary year but don’t forget that we will be celebrating the 50th Anniversary of orienteering in Berkshire in 2018. Last weekend saw the final event in the national and regional (Southern England) urban leagues with an event in Brighton. We had two winners at the event, Martin Wilson and Denise Harper in Ultravet Men and Women respectively. We had four people coming third in the overall results for the Southern England league (the SEOUL) – both Martin and Denise but also Mark Saunders (in Men Open) and Fiona Clough (in Veteran Women). BKO Events
Saturday 16th January - Winter Series & Youth League Event
Our first event of 2016 is the next Saturday event. This one is being staged in collaboration with the Basingstoke and Andover club (BADO) on Snelsmore Common to the north of Newbury. The courses available are expected to be Short Blue, Light Green, Orange, Yellow and White. Registration will be from 10:00am to 11:00am with starts from 10:30am to 11:30am. Sunday 31st January – Concorde Chase
An early warning of our forthcoming major event – our annual Concorde Chase. We have got permission to use Barossa, the area of heath and forest to the north of Camberley, part of the Sandhurst military training area. Full details in January but please remember that we will need a good number of BKO helpers and, as usual, there will be discounted entries for those who volunteer. Club AGM and Annual Dinner – 12th February 2016
After 3 years, we are trying a change of location for this annual event. We have booked the Downshire Golf Complex, close to Easthampstead Park and between Bracknell and Wokingham. Please put the date in your diaries. More details will be provided in the next Newsletter and in e-mails during January.

Sunday 3rd January 2016 - RAF Halton Urban Race

Saturday 9th January – SN Saturday Event
