2 April 2018: JK 2018 - Day 4 - Relays

There was mud, slush and rain. The temperature was 2 degrees. There were 18 BKO competitors in 6 teams. They were all champions for coping with the conditions. They will all be able to say 'I competed in the JK2018 Relays!' It was fantastic that today’s Relays at the JK International Festival of Orienteering went ahead on time this morning – a tribute to the dedication of the large number of volunteers from the clubs of the West Midlands (with support from further afield). We had a third place and a podium spot for our Ultra Veterans team consisting of David Jukes, Ian Cooper and Martin Wilson. Special mention should also be made of our team competing in the JK Trophy: Mark Saunders, Lukasz Wisniewski and Pavel Prochazka. Pavel had travelled from North Wales this morning to be with us and he helped the team achieve a top half position (16th) in this highly competitive relay event.
