19 January 2019: Club Championship 2018 Results

As reported earlier (see 13 January), the 2018 Club Championships were held in conjunction with the Southampton OC event in the New Forest last Sunday.  As the handicap class results are calculated on the basis of the national ranking points allocated at the event, the final winners take a few days to determine.  However we are now able to report and announce our 2018 Club Champions.  Our Open/Men's class was won by the current British Army Women's Champion, Kezia Jukes, who had a good clean run around the Blue course.  The event was also the Inter-services Championship and, with her fast time, she also claimed the title of Inter-services Women's Champion.  Second was Dimitar Gospodinov who has been steadily improving and over the fast course he was less than a minute behind Kezia. The actual Women's Champion title was determined as the best female BKO member on the Green course.  A great run by one of our newest member, Trish Monks, enabled her to take the title.  The image shows Trish jumping a small stream on her way to the title.  Finally, after doing the required calculations, Dimitar Gospodinov's run came out best in the Handicap competition - his run producing his highest ever ranking point score.  Congratulations to all our winners!
