23 November 2019 - The 2019 Club Chamionships

The annual Club Championship was held today in association with the regional league event at Pamber Forest. The event was staged by Basingstoke and Andover Orienteering Club (BADO).  To compete for the Men’s title, members had to tackle to 6.8 km Blue course.  Several potential champions opted for the longer Brown course leaving Derick Mercer and Simon Turton to take 1st and 2nd places on Blue.  The 4.9 km Green course was designated as the course to determine the Women’s title and Trish Monks took the first BKO position, retaining her title, with Annika Greenwood second.  Unfortunately, there were no BKO juniors on the Orange course, designated as the one to determine Junior Champions.

In addition, results from the event are used to determine a Handicap Champion.  This is calculated based on the national ranking points a BKO member gets for their run (on whatever course) compared to their current top ranking points.  The handicap result will be calculated once the ranking points are published in a few days’ time.

Congratulations to our Champions. Full event results are available on the BADO site – see https://bado.org.uk/results/Pamber20191123/results.htm
