Planners notes on Swinley East event

Hope everyone had a good run out and found challenges on what is a mixed area.  The ever changing landscape and inaccessible areas of a working forest made creating suitable courses quite difficult, which, alongside our relative lack of planning experience and never ending rain meant that both we and our controller(s) had plenty of correspondence and many trips into the forest before everyone was happy. We got there in the end though, and the overall feedback seemed positive.  Certainly everyone looked suitably tired and dishevelled on their return, and that seems like a good trip out to me

The GB Junior team have just returned form the European Youth Orienteering Champs (around Velingrad, Bulgaria) and the Junior World Orienteering Champs (near Baia Mare in northern Romania). BKO at British Long and Relay Champs 2023

BKO had a full on weekend - responsible for planning and organising the British Long orienteering championships on Saturday (see report in Newsletters), as well as competing in the Long race and on the following day in the relay champs at Hambleden. Well done to the whole team, but particularly to Jane and Fiona for organising the Long champs and Mark and Simon for planning the courses over many months.
