3 April: BKO Update - Special

Great news - Katy Stubbs has been awarded this year's prestigious Silva Award. The annual award is made to a person considered to: 'have made a very significant contribution to orienteering over a period of years, with an emphasis on ‘field' activities rather than committee work.' ....

27 March: BKO Update

It has been just over 2 weeks since the last Update but the CompassSport Cup heat seems much longer ago than that now.  There will be a report in the next Newsletter but just to let you know that, although not qualifying for the final, the club retuned an excellent performance. ....

15 March: BKO at the Compass Sport Cup

The club had a team at the CompassSport Cup heat at Fonthill on Sunday, with 37 members competing, providing enough qualifying runners to give us the full 25 counting scores. The results swayed back and forth during the competition, with BKO and DEVON fighting for 3rd place. After a ding-dong battle, BKO ahead by 37 points at 2 pm, but DEVON clawing back to lead us by just 6 points towards the close, looking like clinching it.

11 March: BKO Update

BKO members came back from last Sunday’s regional SCOA Long Distance Championships organised by SARUM with quite a selection of medals.  Congratulations to the following who were successful: M50 - 2nd: Derick Mercer; M60 - 2nd: David Jukes; M65 - 3rd: Martin Wilson; M70 - 1st: Ian Cooper; M75 - 2nd: Peter Bennett; M90 – 1st: Darrell Cruickshank; W40 - 1st: Annika Hermik; W50 - 2nd: Fiona Clough; W60 - 2nd: Gill Godbold; W70 - 2nd: Gill Bennett.

4 March: BKO Update

Good luck to those competing this weekend.  There are 25 members having a go at the Oxford City Race on Sunday and 23 members in the SCOA Long Distance Championships at SARUM’s Sidbury Hill near Tidworth on Sunday.  There is limited on the day entry for both events but, at the Sunday event, these will not be eligible for the SCOA Championship.
