4 November: BKO Update

Last weekend was busy for the enthusiast with the BDO urban event in Basingstoke on Saturday and the November Classic on Sunday. 24 members were at the first and 32 at the second. One of those at the November Classic was Darrell Cruickshank who was competing in, and completing, his first event after his 90th birthday. ....

2 November: Guidelines for Photography at BKO Events

British Orienteering (BOF) is in the process of updating its own “Guidelines for the Use of Images of Children/Young People under the age of 18”. Based on a draft version of the national guidance, Berkshire Orienteers has adopted its own version for an initial trial period of about 6 months. ....

20 October: BKO Update

First, congratulations to St Andrew’s School, Pangbourne, for an excellent performance in the British Schools Score Championships 2015 on the 10th October. They came away as the Champions in the ‘Middle, Prep Girls’ category but were beaten into second place in the ‘Middle, Prep Boys’ category. ….

30 September: BKO Update

We had about 130 entries for last Saturday’s Youth League event at Yateley Common. The sun shone enabling the competitors to enjoy the heath and Dick Rae’s courses. Thanks to all the officials and helpers. Also ....

24 September: BKO Update

Last weekend saw several club members at an event near Ringwood in the New Forest. Attending the event as BKO members was a large contingent of juniors tackling the Orange, Yellow and White courses. ....

3 October: Level "C" Controllers Course Available

Wessex Orienteers have organised a level C Controllers course on 3rd October and have invited any BKO members to attend.

The course instuctor is Katy Stubbs (BKO).

Is summer over? It is mid-August and it’s cool and wet – I hope you have been able to enjoy some sunny and warm weather and perhaps there is still some more to come. Those members who travelled to Scotland for the Scottish 6 Day event ....

30 June: BKO Update

The final pre-entry date for the Scottish 6-Day orienteering festival, Highland 2015, is 30 June and there are already over 5000 entries!! The week (2-8 August) is based on Inverness and is running in parallel with this year's World Orienteering Championships. ....
